As the name suggests, climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns.
We are experiencing climate change in diverse ways; it affects our health, safety, housing, work, and ability to grow food. Some of us are already more vulnerable to climate impacts, such as people living in small island nations and other developing countries. In the future, the number of “climate refugees” is expected to rise.
However, my intention for today’s post is not to worry you. Rather, I’m going to help you become more climate-conscious so that each of us can take actions, however large or small, in the global effort against a climate disaster.
I set my mind to coming back at another time with causes, effects, and solutions to climate change. Yet before that, I hope it might be of help to walk you through some of the key terms related to the topic and we all have a solid background understanding.
Here we go.
